NOLS Author Talks | Bill CArr

Online Series | Wednesday, March 18th | 8:00 PM Eastern Time

Join us for our final Author of the Author Talks Series, Bill Carr!

Bill Carr is a former top Amazon executive, author, and co-founder of Working Backwards, LLC, known for his leadership in launching and scaling Amazon Music, Prime Video, and Amazon Studios during the company’s most innovative years. A 15-year Amazon veteran who joined in 1999, he helped the company evolve from a bookseller into a global technology powerhouse, ultimately leading Amazon’s digital media division and overseeing a team of more than a thousand as the business grew past $1 billion in revenue. He is the co-author of Working Backwards, which provides an insider look at Amazon’s culture and leadership principles, and he now advises companies worldwide on applying these practices. Carr has also served as entrepreneur in residence at Maveron and COO of OfferUp. He holds a BA from Colby College and an MBA from Emory University.

When she's not writing, creating art, or helping her clients birth their dream projects, she spends a lot of time surfing and swimming the central coast of California, running and mountain biking in the Santa Cruz Mountains, and trying to perfect versions of her favorite Joni Mitchell and Led Zeppelin songs on guitar.

Bill discovered NOLS on a 30-day Wind River Wilderness expedition in 1992. The trip fueled Bill’s passion for the outdoors and transformed his leadership style. He also serves as a member of the NOLS Board of Trustees.

We hope to see you at our final Author Talk of the season!
