Climb mountains, paddle rapids, and learn to lead

This summer, find adventure in the Rockies. Embrace new challenges as you explore Wyoming’s snow-capped mountains and paddle whitewater rapids in Utah and Colorado. Summit glacier-carved peaks and go fly fishing on clear alpine lakes. Explore the spectacular river canyons of Dinosaur National Monument by kayak and raft.

On both sections of the course—mountaineering and river travel—you’ll start with the basics, like reading a map, tying knots, and developing your paddle technique. When you’re ready, you’ll move on to more advanced topics, like navigating off trail and scouting rapids.

As you build essential boating and mountaineering skills, you’ll also deepen your understanding of leadership. With coaching from experienced instructors, learn effective communication while belaying a coursemate or piloting a raft through a rapid. Practice problem solving and tolerance for adversity as you complete a tough peak ascent. By the end of this trip, you’ll have the confidence to lead in the outdoors and beyond.
