Andy started his NOLS journey as a student on an Outdoor Educator sea kayaking and hiking course in Alaska in 2010. He later completed an Alaska Instructor Course in 2013 and works hiking, sea kayaking, and mountaineering courses. In 2016, he took a NOLS Wilderness Medicine EMT and proctored for the summer in Alaska, two NOLS career highlights. Outside of the school, he works as a Leadership Program Coordinator at Outdoor Outreach in San Diego, a NOLS Gateway partner, in creating a more dynamic and inclusive outdoor community.
