Brian Kasavana

Instructor, Paramedic, WFR

Brian Kasavana

Brian has worked at NOLS since 2007. He began as a mountaineering instructor leading field courses in Alaska and Patagonia and various places between. He was first introduced to NOLS as a semester student on a college semester abroad to Patagonia. These days his outdoor passion and interest in medicine have landed him in Salt Lake City where he lives with his wife and kids and works as a 911 paramedic. Brian loves sharing his passion for the outdoors and for patient care in the Wilderness Medicine classroom, where he is able to connect students with the resources they need to take care of themselves and others while enjoying wild places. When not working you may find Brian backcountry skiing, mountain biking, trail running, or out on an adventure somewhere cold and remote (or working on a house project).
