Emily grew up in Snowmass Village, CO and went to Colorado State University in northern Colorado. When she asked her college advisor what degree would be best for someone who, for instance, may want to ski patrol and teach in the outdoors he told her that Natural Resources Recreation and Tourism would be a good fit. Throughout college Emily gained outdoor leadership and teaching skills through teaching and guiding for the CSU Outdoor Adventure Program. Once free from college she began a seasonal rhythm of working for Outward Bound in the summers and Ski Patrolling by winter. In an attempt to try and live in one state for a year, Emily just moved back home to ski patrol at Snowmass. In her free time she loves baking and cooking for friends, road biking, adventuring of any kind, and learning to fly fish (although she is the first to admit that at this point in her fishing career she does more casting than catching!).
