Kate Burgess

Wilderness Medicine Instructor

Kate Burgess

Kate hails from Boston (“Bawstun”), but currently calls wherever she can park her Toyota Highlander “home.” Easily excitable, Kate’s career has spanned multiple industries - from wilderness therapy, to victim advocacy, dance instruction, Indigenous rights activism, and environmental law, where she presently advises state legislators interested in advancing just and equitable policies. When she’s not teaching wilderness medicine, she can be found singing the Blues, winter surfing, or practicing the PAS on stuffed animals, although she finds them to be rather unanimated patients.

If you get the chance, ask Kate about the time she milked a squirrel in college; it’ll be a weird moment for you both.
