Matt grew up in New England eventually moving out to Arizona after high school where he took his first WMI WFR course with the legendary Pete Walka in 2005 and since then had been plotting his return as a NOLS/WMI instructor ever since. This dream finally came true in 2020. In the process he guided backpacking trips in the Southwest, worked for EMS, was a ridge runner for the AMC and became a Physician Assistant. In addition to helping out with WMI courses and working full time as a PA, he can be found wandering around the woods of Michigan with his beautiful family.
