A California native, Abigail grew up playing in the Sierras and in cold Pacific waters, falling in love with the scale of the West. Upon graduating with a B.A. in History, Abigail began working in outdoor education in 2013, leading backpacking courses in Alaska and Switzerland. Abigail pursued her love of working with people and sharing incandescent moments outside while guiding cycling trips in Europe as well as teaching high school in southern Africa and South America with The Traveling School. Abigail joined NOLS in 2017 and works as a mountaineering and winter instructor.
