Bill Carr

Bill Carr is passionate about the outdoors and sport. He is an avid skier (Alpine, Skate & AT), cyclist (road, gravel & mtb), hiker, and golfer. The NOLS Wind River Wilderness course he completed in 1992 had a profound impact on Bill’s leadership skills, and his love of the wilderness. Bill lives in Seattle with his wife Lynn and his two sons, Evan and Maddox but spends as much time as possible in the Cascades and at their home in Sun Valley, Idaho.

Bill joined Amazon in 1999 and spent over 15 years with the company. As Vice President of Digital Media, Bill was the founder and leader of the company's digital music and video businesses; Amazon Music, Prime Video, and Amazon Studios. After Amazon, Bill was an Executive In Residence with the venture capital firm Maveron, and the Chief Operating Officer at OfferUp. Today, Bill is the co-author of the best selling management book, Working Backwards, and consults with CEOs and their organizations to implement Amazon’s best practices. Bill earned a B.A. from Colby College in 1989 and an M.B.A. from Goizueta Business School at Emory University in 1994.
