Bill Murdock

Advisory Council Emeriti

Bill Murdock

Bill has twice been a student at NOLS, first in 1970 as one of Paul Petzoldt’s “come and pay later” students, and then again 46 years later in 2016. Between those student courses he has twice been a NOLS Trustee, one of Heyller’s lumberyard rats, NOLS instructor and course leader, and for several years now a member of the NOLS Advisory Council. Perhaps most importantly, he is also a NOLS parent. Bill believes the work of the school, guided by its mission statement, is now more important, more necessary, and more relevant than at any time in the school’s 50+ year history. Bill lives in Kodiak, Alaska.
