Brenna came to NOLS in 2011 as a student on a spring semester in Baja (Mexico). She walked away from the course feeling inspired to spend as much time as possible outdoors and to pursue an alternative lifestyle. She took a Southwest instructor course in 2014 and has been working for NOLS and other outdoor education programs since. She enjoys working for NOLS because she loves to see the immense growth that students experience as individuals and as a group after many days in the wilderness. Along the way she found a passion for wilderness medicine and teaching and took her Wilderness Medicine instructor training course in 2018. When not working for NOLS she likes to cook extravagant meals, read nonfiction, and gallivant around the American West.
