José H. Gonzalez

José teaches Wilderness Medicine and Risk Management for Administrator courses. He is a Boricua, born and raised in Puerto Rico. José started his career in outdoor education in 1989 and has split his time between New Hampshire, Maine, California and the Caribbean. While in New England he facilitated for several programs including Dartmouth Outdoor Programs, University of New Hampshire, Plymouth State University, Thompson Island Outward Bound, and Hurricane Island Outward Bound. On the west coast, he has been teaching for the San Diego State University Aquatic Center and California State University Northridge where he is a tenure-track professor. He still maintains his 50 gross tons USCG Captain's License and EMT.
