Kate Williams is CEO of 1% for the Planet, a global organization that inspires action and commitment so that our planet and future generations thrive. 1% for the Planet’s global network of thousands of businesses and individuals have donated hundreds of millions of dollars to vetted environmental partners to date. The community’s shared goal is to reach $1 billion in total network impact by 2028, and to accelerate subsequent impact from there. Kate has driven significant organizational scale —implementing high-impact giving strategies, growing a global brand and leading an incredible and dedicated team around the world.

Prior to her role as CEO, she was the Director of Partnerships and before joining 1% for the Planet, Kate spent over ten years as Executive Director of Northern Forest Canoe Trail. In 2024, Kate was selected as a New Era of Leadership - Purpose award winner. At home, Kate is mom to two amazing young adults, a partner to her husband of 30+ years, and is outside on trails as much as possible. Kate was a NOLS student, an instructor, and is a NOLS parent.
