Leon is a NOLS Wilderness Medicine instructor and a graduate of the NOLS Outdoor Educator with Wilderness First Responder course. He calls Austin, Texas home. Outside NOLS, Leon is the director and senior instructor at the LBJ Fire Academy, a program from which students can graduate from high school with fire and EMT certifications. He is "retired" from both the US Army and the Austin Fire Department. Leon and his family enjoy world travel and recreating in the outdoors.
