Born in South Africa, Paul moved to the United States as a small child, but has continued to seek out travel, adventure, and education ever since. Paul’s higher education degrees are in business and counseling, but his life’s work has been in the outdoors. A self-proclaimed “mercenary educator,” Paul has had the opportunity to work with numerous organizations and to support a diverse spectrum of students and clients. Paul has worked as a facilitator, curriculum designer, coach, counselor, expeditionary leader, risk management consultant, staff trainer, and team builder. Along with instructing for NOLS Wilderness Medicine, Paul currently is the President of Avid4 Adventure, helping support the mission to empower kids to lead active and healthy lifestyles outdoors.
