Sarah's interest in wilderness medicine began in second grade, when she was kicked out of class for bringing a dead bird to show-and-tell. Since then she has "grown up" considerably, gaining a college degree in biology, WEMT certification, and experience as a backpacking guide in New England, Alaska, and the West. Most recently she has worked as a program director for Farm and Wilderness Camps, a senior field instructor at Second Nature Wilderness Program, and an EMT-B in Moab, UT. When she's not on-call or teaching for NOLS Wilderness Medicine she enjoys rock climbing, trail running, playing fiddle, and eating buffalo burgers in the desert of southwest Utah.
