Wandi Steward, a 2015 graduate of the NOLS Horse packing course, is an outdoor enthusiast who grew up camping, canoeing, and horseback riding in the Midwest.
A graduate of Parks College of Engineering, Aviation, and Technology, Wandi had a brief career as the airport operations and emergency manager for Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta. She left aviation after discovering a passion in sports and outdoor leadership education, which led her to a variety of international posts in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and South America as a program director, instructor, and entrepreneur.
Wandi directed components of the Beijing Summer Olympic Games, Shanghai Special Olympics, Doha (Qatar) Asian Games, Shanghai Formula One racing, and others. Globetrotting led to a resurrection of her camping skills with sleepovers on the Giza Plateau, the Great Wall of China, Mt. Everest, Mt. Kilimanjaro, and more.
Certified in Wilderness First Aid, Wandi is an Outdoor Afro Leader for the Atlanta Network. She is a skier, hiker, and mountain biker who also enjoys sailing and kayaking. She is a stewardship trip host with the Georgia Conservancy.
