Make your spring break memorable

Do something different. Leave your hectic routine behind and go rock climbing at Arizona’s famed Cochise Stronghold. Explore the area’s granite domes, jagged spires, and winding desert canyons. Push the edges of your comfort zone as you work toward new goals. Spend your days climbing and your evenings cooking and relaxing in camp with your new friends.

At the crag, you’ll start with the basics, getting to know your gear and learning how to move on rock. Practice rope handling, knot tying, belaying, and rappelling. Once you’re comfortable with the fundamentals, you’ll move on to more advanced topics like anchor building and mock lead climbing. Regardless of your experience level, expect to challenge yourself and grow your climbing skills.

This course isn’t just about building your technical experience. It’s also about leadership: to be a good climber, you need to be a good leader and team member. Practice effective communication with your climbing partners as you try out a new route. Support your teammates as they take on new challenges. In just a week, gain new confidence in yourself as a leader and climber—and come back ready to start planning your next outdoor adventure.
